Consistency counts: making a commitment to yourself

I believe one of the key factors in generating and sustaining movement—the energy that propels us forward and introduces us to a world of possibilities—is consistency; i.e., to be dedicated and focused on a goal, and to remain committed to a task or habit. For me, this means spending time in the Word each morning to strengthen my faith, living within the boundaries I’ve created to improve and maintain my health, sitting down to pound out my daily word count, decluttering our home one box at time, and hitting the trails to reach my daily goal of 10,000 or more steps. Are there times when I opt for a rest day instead of working out, or power off my laptop early? Absolutely! Because rest isn’t just a necessity, it’s also a Biblical invitation, and one in which I need to be more consistent. The good news? Each small action performed with consistency leads to bigger results.

What area in your life could benefit from more consistency?
