Claiming victory: resting in His finished work on the cross
During Easter weekend, my husband and I watched An Easter Bloom, a sweet Hallmark movie about love and forgiveness. The hero, Pastor Derrick, had been unable to forgive himself for a mistake and to share his authentic self with his congregation. I realized how often I, too, hide behind my laptop screen, hesitant to be vulnerable. Even for someone who writes stories brimming with hope, humor & heart, some mornings I struggle to claim His new mercies that await. When we find ourselves in this place, it can prevent us from seeing the light at the end the tunnel, causing us to question our faith. But this is where the Holy Spirit meets us with the reminder we’re loved and forgiven by a gracious Father who knows best the trials, tests, and timing to better equip us to walk out the purposes for which He created us. We simply need rest in His finished work on the cross.
How easy is it for you to live in victory?
