Beyond the storm clouds: searching for glimmers of silver lining

Thanks to a couple of unplanned surprises during a recent overnight trip for medical appointments in the Phoenix Valley, I’ve gotten to practice resting in the Lord’s finished work on the cross (see Claiming victory). During our last day in town, a simple oil change resulted in a new starter several hours later. In addition, routine X-rays and a teeth cleaning led to an extraction and bone graft when the dentist discovered an abscess vs. an assumed sinus infection. Though we hadn’t anticipated either scenario, Bob and I still acknowledged glimmers of silver lining. First, the service advisor at the dealership was able to duplicate a glitch when starting our vehicle, and to order parts for same-day installation; and second, our dentist identified the “root” of my jaw pain I’d endured for weeks. And I can see a few more glimmers peeking from behind the storm clouds, which is all I need to know we’re in good hands.

What’s a recent “glimmer” of silver lining in your life?
