Oh what a view: going all the way
Since moving to the mountain, my husband and I love to hike the Arizona Trail. Each time, we’re wowed with the breathtaking views—meadows, canyons, wildflowers, tanks (ponds for wildlife) and miles of forest. And whenever we revisit a trail we’ve previously explored, we typically travel another mile or so further to experience even grander settings. On a recent trek, we learned from a biker that we’d turned around about a mile before reaching a spectacular 500-foot drop that opens up to what locals call the “mini–Grand Canyon.” How many times have I done the same thing in life—given up or turned around when the going got rough, or my limiting beliefs paralyzed me? How many amazing sights and/or opportunities have I missed out on just around the next bend? Not long after that encounter, we hiked a different trail, but this time we decided to go all the way. Oh, what a view!
What sight and/or opportunity is waiting for you just out of view?
