The 12 days of Christmas: a twist on the classic
When I was writing today’s post, I did a little research and discovered that the origin of the classic 12 Days of Christmas song involves theological significance. You can read more about that here. But in my version of the classic, I tweaked it so the recipient becomes the giver of an intangible gift. As you sing the words to the timeless melody (I know you want to), let’s consider a twist on our own gift giving this year—whether on the first day of Christmas, or on the twelfth day of Christmas—in love I gave to thee: 12 affirmations, 11 happy smiles, 10 extra minutes, nine phone-free moments, eight special favors, seven “I forgive you,” six gifts of service, five heartfelt prayers, four friendly hugs, three words of thanks, two helping hands and a random act of kindness. And, new subscribers to my newsletter through December will receive an Advent Activities calendar packed with fun holiday ideas.
What’s one gift you hope to receive this Christmas?
