Ordering our days: pause and pray

Recently I participated in a guest interview conducted by author Diana Leagh Matthews, and one of her questions was: What’s the biggest struggle you have as a writer? While I’ve always wrestled with limiting beliefs, if I had to choose one thing, I’d pick the elusive life-writing balance. As a full-time writer, I often get lost in my various projects, social media updates, content management, etc., to the detriment of whatever needs attention in our fixer-upper cabin—including my husband who’s been nothing but supportive and understanding as it pertains to deadlines, as well as over-commitments on my part (oops). Although I routinely ask the Lord to order my days, I find it’s when I pause—and pray—that I’m able to approach my tasks with a more objective eye to better determine what really needs to get done, and what can wait. And more often than not, I end up discovering that my biggest struggle was with myself all along.

What’s one struggle you wrestle with daily?
