Leveraging the most of our time: pressing into the wait
We’ve all likely heard the directive to “be patient” at least once in our lives. It might even be a situation that required us to “wait on the Lord.” Waiting is hard stuff. But what if we could leverage that time to our advantage by eliminating distractions that sidetrack us and then—with intention, or actively—press into the wait? My husband and I are practicing this idea as we navigate our own waiting space after taking a recent leap of faith. It requires a regular check-in to ask each other: What is this time/situation/etc. teaching us? Remember the divine interruption of a leaky roof that spurred us on when we become stagnant? A hidden danger was revealed during drywall repairs: faulty wiring an electrician deemed a fire hazard. If you find yourself in a waiting space today, instead of fighting your way through it, ask yourself if you need to learn something. I promise that time will not go to waste.
How do you handle the wait?
