Between a rock and a hard place: making peace with your stuckness

Noun. stuckness (uncountable) (informal) The state of being stuck (in all senses)

When I recently found myself experiencing a state of stuckness, my type A personality jumped in to invent a solution. Did I need a change of scenery? To take a hike? To get lost in a feel-good movie? Check, check and check. Yet no matter what I tried, the outcome remained the same. As I journaled my thoughts, I sensed the false belief that I needed to fix something that wasn’t really broken. And to make peace with my stuckness, instead—by sitting in that space, acknowledging it without judgment and maybe embracing it. After all, with life on a fast-track, the state of “being” seems to have been replaced with an outcome-based mentality—rather than accepting stuckness as an invitation to experience our world from the role of an observer. To be okay with not moving forward or backward, while we simply catch our breaths.

How comfortable are you when in a state of stuckness?

I get that “stuck” feeling *a lot* Chrissy… so I turn to reading, as this makes me comfortable to read a lot; then write about what I learn; putting situations into my own words… then taking action! My latest “reading comforts” are found in a new free ebook I received here:

I sure hope your Happy Jack jaunt, for you & the mister, is a happy one and not too messy.

Jimmy, the Hom that Yaks at ya. 😉

It’s so good to hear from you, Jimmy! I hope you and yours are doing famously. I *love* reading a lot, too. Both fiction and nonfiction, especially as related to spiritual growth. Your latest ebook sounds right up your alley. Happy Jack has been quite the jaunt I wouldn’t trade for the world. Thanks for popping in 🙂
