Improving the human condition: harness your superpower
What if I told you that everyone has at least one superpower? Does your mind automatically think of a popular masked comic book hero sporting colorful tights, an awesome skill and a flashy sidekick? Or do you liken a superpower to your God-given strengths and/or talents? Whichever camp you’re in, superpowers might be directly observable, like being a great artist, skilled cook or master practitioner of the martial arts. Or, they might refer to strengths of character we can’t tangibly see, such as bravery, persistence, kindness or the ability to anticipate others’ wants or needs. Before we can harness our superpower, however, we need to figure out what it is. What are you good at? What makes you happy, brings you the most joy or excites you? What can you do to improve the human condition, and how? Once we answer those questions, we can then locate opportunities to use our experiences, passions and knowledge to serve those in our sphere of influence.
