Two decades in the making: an anniversary from death to life
It’s that time of year when I jump on my soapbox to discuss abstaining from drinking and driving. If you’re unfamiliar with my family’s story, you may contact Guideposts’ customer service to special order Exploring God’s Promises–Hope, which includes our true story based on God’s promise never to leave His children, and how that promise sustained our family after a tragic drunk driving accident upended our lives, or you can catch up here. On this milestone anniversary (Aug. 19), 20 years from the day Bob—my husband and the father of our then 12-year-old daughter—was resuscitated on scene, we’re celebrating his new lease on life following the long-awaited gift of a new hip (April, 2024). For those of you who’ve been affected by a drunk driver, or know someone who has, I pray that your lives are shining testimonies that it’s always the write time for hope for new beginnings, humor in the messy middle & heart for happy endings.
And remember: don’t drink and drive.
