Power, love + self-discipline: a winning combination
For God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
While journaling during a recent quiet time, I was reflecting on a Bible verse when something clicked—an answer to a decades-long petition related to a mental struggle of mine. I’d even considered it my “thorn,” like Paul in the Bible who prayed three times for his affliction to be removed. Yet 2 Timothy 1:7, which I’ve recited for close to a year, spoke to me personally that particular morning. It was as if the Lord was reminding me I’m already equipped with the necessary tools to achieve victory. 1 John 4:4 says it this way: “…the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” If you’re living a life you feel is less than God’s best for you, be encouraged today. Because He’s willing—and able—and so are you.
What Bible verse has inspired you this year?
