Unwrapping the blessings of the season: a celebration to remember
This week, Christmas will be celebrated in some capacity by almost every country in the world, plus billions of people across the globe. At the same time, many of us may be struggling with the loss of loved ones, or feeling the distance from family and friends. In fact, due to household moves and travel constraints, my little family has adjusted our holiday traditions to accommodate the three of us for the past few Christmases. Though opening our stockings, and sharing hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls over FaceTime on Christmas morning is not our ideal, it bridges the miles until schedules permit real-time hugs. I always say: technology is great…until it’s not. And at times like these, it’s a blessing I don’t take for granted. So in whatever way you approach the holiday, I hope you get to unwrap the blessings of the season—whether they’re tucked beneath your tree, or treasured within your heart, or a combination of both.
What’s been your greatest gift this holiday season?
