Better late than never: pursuing our dreams

I consider myself a “late bloomer” as it pertains to chasing my dream of becoming a published author. Since I was a little girl, however, I’ve wanted to be a writer. I finally pursued this dream seriously when I returned to school in my mid-40s and earned my B.A. in literature, writing & film, followed by a dozen years of work in the publishing industry. During that time, I began attending conferences and workshops, writing and submitting short stories, and collaborating with a writing coach. At age 56, I entered The Great Love Inspired Author Search and—long “story” short—I turned 58 shortly before the release of A FATHER’S VOW, my Love Inspired debut novel. If you’re waiting to pursue a dream because it’s too late, you’re too old, or whatever lie you’ve told yourself, be encouraged…because it’s always the write time for hope for new beginnings, humor in the messy middle & heart for happy endings.

What dream will you pursue better late than never?
