Delayed gratification: wait for it

Out like a lion, in like a lamb. That’s what my husband, Bob and I had been hoping for as we bid farewell to March. But that’s not how it happened on the mountain where we live at 6,800 feet. And while we awaited the arrival of spring, we were also anticipating Bob’s hip replacement surgery and the blessed absence of chronic pain, followed by our daughter’s visit to help out during his recovery. Then, after a textbook and “boring” procedure—as the surgeon described it—we’re now waiting for my husband’s body to fully heal so he can hit the trails once again. Yet what I’ve discovered during the past couple of years is that along with delayed gratification comes a deeper sense of gratitude. Which is exactly how I feel about my new website. It’s been a long time coming—but I couldn’t be more thrilled with the final result. Check it out at chrismadayschmidt.com and let me know what you think!

What are you anticipating?
